Why are there tire marks on my newly sealed driveway?
It can be quite frustrating to pay to have your asphalt driveway sealed, only to see tire marks appear as soon as you drive on it. Fortunately, this is quite common and will not last long. Like new asphalt, asphalt sealant takes a few weeks to fully cure. As it sets, though, the sealant will shift back into place, erasing the marks in the process.
In the meantime, you can take some steps to minimize these marks. Put down cardboard underneath kickstands or other sharp items, be careful not to turn your steering wheel while your vehicle is stopped, and avoid parking very heavy equipment such as construction vehicles on the driveway for the first few weeks.
