How much sloping do I need for proper asphalt drainage?
At a minimum, a 2% slope, referred to as “fall,” is essential for proper water runoff. This means that the angle must decline by ¼ inch for each foot of asphalt. If the fall is not adequate, water is likely to pool, potentially eroding the top layers of asphalt and allowing water intrusion into the deeper layers, where cracks and potholes are the inevitable result.
